A Facebook poke is a free feature that permits you to send out a virtual "Hey, I was here" message. The poke appears on your friend's page as a symbol that represents that poked him and provides the alternatives "Remove Poke" or "Poke Back" If you receive the icon on your page, just you - not the visitors to your page - will see it, and if you don't poke back or remove it, the person that sent it can not poke you once more.
