Ever question why some Facebook cover photos look much better than others on mobile? The answer is always a wonderful designer (not that I'm biased or anything), however I recently discovered a cool trick to help less of your effort get cut off when viewing from a mobile phone-- and also still look fantastic on desktop computer.
Terrible as I go to remembering numbers, I'm always googling "FB cover photo size" (or seeing our quick-reference infographic), and also the first answer that constantly turns up is 851 × 315, which is exactly what the cover image presents at on a desktop internet browser. If your only problem is desktop computer, this is a fine size to publish your cover image. However, we could not neglect the 798 million customers that access Facebook daily with their mobile phones.
Prior to I located this technique, alternatives for enhancing a cover picture for both desktop computer & mobile were extremely limited: either make the prime focus really small to display appropriately on mobile, or make it look good on desktop computer and also give up the mobile experience.

OK, I'll cut to the chase. Submit an image that is 851 × 475. With cover photos taller than desktop programs, two points happen:.
Desktop computer removes the top & base of the picture (luckily, it removes an equal amount from both).
Mobile will still remove several of the sides of the photo, but we have a significantly larger readable location.
