Ever before wonder why some Facebook cover pictures look much better compared to others on mobile? The solution is always a wonderful developer (not that I'm prejudiced or anything), yet I just recently found an awesome technique to help less of your effort get cut off when seeing from a mobile device-- as well as still look great on desktop computer.
Horrible as I am at keeping in mind numbers, I'm constantly googling "FB cover photo size" (or viewing our quick-reference infographic), and the initial response that always appears is 851 × 315, which is exactly what the cover picture presents at on a desktop web browser. If your only problem is desktop computer, this is a great size to submit your cover image. Sadly, we could not overlook the 798 million individuals who access Facebook daily via their cellphones.
Prior to I found this technique, alternatives for enhancing a cover photo for both desktop & mobile were extremely minimal: either make the centerpiece extremely small to present appropriately on mobile, or make it look good on desktop and also compromise the mobile experience.
Ugh.
OK, I'll reduce to the chase. Upload a picture that is 851 × 475. With cover pictures taller compared to desktop shows, 2 points occur:.
Desktop cuts off the top & bottom of the photo (fortunately, it cuts off an equivalent amount from both).
Mobile will still cut off a few of the sides of the photo, however we have a considerably larger viewable location.
