Ever wonder why some Facebook cover photos look better than others on mobile? The solution is always a terrific developer (not that I'm prejudiced or anything), but I just recently discovered a nifty trick to help less of your hard work get cut off when seeing from a mobile device-- and also still look great on desktop computer.
Terrible as I am at bearing in mind numbers, I'm always googling "FB cover picture size" (or watching our quick-reference infographic), and the very first solution that always pops up is 851 × 315, which is exactly what the cover image shows at on a desktop internet browser. If your only concern is desktop, this is a fine dimension to publish your cover picture. Before I located this trick, alternatives for enhancing a cover photo for both desktop computer & mobile were extremely limited: either make the focal point very small to present properly on mobile, or make it look great on desktop and also sacrifice the mobile experience.

OK, I'll cut to the chase. Upload a photo that is 851 × 475. With cover pictures taller compared to desktop computer shows, 2 things take place:.
Desktop computer removes the top & bottom of the image (the good news is, it cuts off an equivalent quantity from both).
Mobile will still cut off a few of the sides of the photo, but we have a significantly bigger readable area.
