Giphy, a new startup from tech workshop Betaworks, just thought of a workaround to upload GIFs straight onto your Facebook Timeline.
You still should hit play, as you would with a video clip, in order to see the computer animation. Yet it's basically the exact same experience.
UPDATE from a Facebook agent: "Facebook does not support animated GIFs."
If you want to share a GIF on Facebook, first directly over to Giphy.
Giphy enables you to search through all the GIFs that makers have uploaded to the site. As soon as you find a GIF you wish to share, click the Facebook icon listed below the animation.
A standard Facebook share box will certainly appear. From there, you could determine if you wish to share it on your Timeline, a buddy's timeline, in a group, or in a private message.
