Can You Direct Message On Instagram
To send your initial DM on Instagram, take a picture as you typically would. You could apply all the same filters to "DM photos" as you could with all various other Instagram messages. When you're ready to send it straight to someone (or a team of people)-- tap NEXT as usual.
From the Share to food selection to the top of the display, tap DIRECT (see # 1 in screenshot below). Now tap inside the Write a caption ... window, and also type out your message (see # 2 in screenshot listed below).
